Dance Styles

Hip Hop New Style

Hip Hop has evolved during the years. There used to be the Running Man, later came the Dougie now we have the NaeNae!
Hip Hop was very popular in the 70's and it still is. The old school moves that people danced in the 70's/80's are  now the
basics for the modern style of Hip Hop. Hip Hop New Style you see a lot in dance battles.
Hip Hop New Style is expressive, artistic and fun!!

Lady Hop

This style is now very popular by the girls. There is not an official name for this style 'cause it is
also Hip Hop. The only difference is that the dance has more "girly" moves.
Lady Hop is much to see in music videos and battles. Artists like Ciara & Beyonce are dancing
this style.

Urban Pop

Urban Pop is primarily danced to R&B music and is a style that is mostly used in
music videos and live performances. It has a lot of basics but is very powerful.
Artists like Beyonce & Usher are dancing Urban Pop on their shows for their
background dancers.

Freestyle

Freestyle is the first basic of dancing. In the 70's & 80's the people started with
freestyling on the streets of the Bronx in New York. It started with break dance and
basic hip hop. People started to have freestyle battles on the streets.
We let our students do a freestyle at the end of a class for their development.
